“Now” Solutions to Reduce Microplastic Pollution from Synthetic Textiles
Guest Speaker: Andrea Ferris, CEO Intrinsic Advanced Materials & Co-Inventor of CiCLO®

Kindly Sponsored by Intrinsic Advanced Materials and Sunflag Group

Microplastic pollution can be found nearly everywhere – from the oceans to soil to
inside our own bodies. One of the most ubiquitous forms of microplastic polluting
the earth are tiny synthetic microfibres that have shed from textiles. Once these
tiny fibres enter the environment, they are nearly impossible to clean up.

Andrea will cover:
• statistics about synthetic microfibre pollution from various pathways
• solutions ranging from improved filtration to textile redesign
• how synthetics can now be manufactured to be durable AND biodegradable
