1972-1973 Production Director Belstaff International UK. Uniforms and sporting outerwear manufacturer.
1973-1976 Vice President Operations, Valor Division USI, Farmville, North Carolina USA, women wear manufacturers
1976 – 1979 Production Director Europe for American Uniform Co. Europe, then promoted to Managing Director, Northern Europe
1979 -1983 Planning and Purchasing Director Europe for Lee Jeans, 5 plants in Belgium and Ireland, 1700 workers, Later, promoted to Operations Director Europe.
1983 – 1987 Manufacturing Director of James Smith Derby, manufacturers of uniforms and protective clothing. Later promoted to Managing Director Midlands division with three companies and 4 plants.
1987- 1991 Head of purchasing and technical development on full sportswear range for Adidas UK.
1992 -2012 – Own consulting practice, Geoffrey Willis Associates. Carried out assignments in textiles and clothing, Worked as a consultant for the World Bank,( IFC) on various assignments in textiles/garments in Asia and Indian subcontinent, plus assignments in Madagascar and Mauritius for EU.
2012-2015 Head of the Textile Development Unit, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tanzania, and later Senior Advisor to the unit. Investment and development of Textile and clothing industry. In UK was elected as a Fellow of the Textile Institute for services to the clothing industry.
2013 – 2022 Chairman of Trigon Select Ltd, London , evaluating Apparel Manufacturers worldwide. Part time work with International Apparel Federation and other private and official organizations, world wide.
